Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Louisiana State Bar in good standing.
• 3–7 years in workers’ compensation or insurance defense.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of workers’ compensation defense matters including employer liability, indemnity disputes, medical treatment issues, and exposure claims.
• Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Represent clients in hearings, depositions, mediations, and administrative proceedings before the Louisiana Workforce Commission.
• Evaluate claims, advise insurer and employer clients, and develop effective defense strategies.
• Communicate updates, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations to clients.
• Collaborate with colleagues, medical providers, vocational rehabilitation experts, and others to achieve favorable outcomes.
• Stay current on workers’ compensation statutes, case law, and regulatory developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a caseload of workers’ compensation defense matters, including employer liability, indemnity disputes, medical treatment issues, and exposure claims.
• Conducting legal research and preparing pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Representing clients in hearings, depositions, mediations, and administrative proceedings before the Louisiana Workforce Commission.
• Evaluating claims, advising insurer and employer clients, and developing effective defense strategies.
• Communicating regularly with clients to provide updates, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations.
• Collaborating with colleagues, medical providers, vocational rehabilitation experts, and others to achieve favorable outcomes.
• Staying current on workers’ compensation statutes, case law, and regulatory developments.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Louisiana State Bar and in good standing.
• 3–7 years of workers’ compensation or insurance defense experience (flexible depending on skillset).
• Strong analytical skills and excellent legal writing abilities.
• Experience handling depositions, hearings, or administrative proceedings.
• Ability to manage files independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
• Strong communication skills and commitment to responsive client service.
