Responsibilities

• Research and analyze complex workers’ compensation issues.
• Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, and detailed reports.
• Conduct depositions, site inspections, and witness preparation.
• Appear in court, argue motions, and participate in mediations.
• Manage all aspects of litigation, including trial preparation and trial work.
• Collaborate with clients, adjusters, employers, and experts throughout the lifecycle of a claim.
• Travel as needed, primarily within Louisiana.

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of workers’ compensation defense experience or a strong background in medical-related issues. This position offers the opportunity for rapid professional growth, regular client contact.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and analyze complex legal issues related to workers’ compensation matters.
• Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, and detailed reports
• Conduct depositions, site inspections, and witness preparation.
• Appear in court, argue motions, and participate in mediations.
• Manage all aspects of litigation, including trial preparation and trial work.
• Collaborate with clients, adjusters, employers, and experts throughout the lifecycle of a claim.
• Travel as needed, primarily within the State of Louisiana

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of workers’ compensation defense experience
• Juris Doctor (J.D.)
• Must be licensed to practice in the state of Louisiana (would be an added plus to be licensed in both Louisiana and Mississippi)

• Appellate experience is a plus.
