Job summary

The State of Indiana seeks an Environmental Manager 2 within the Enforcement Section of the Office of Water Quality. This role evaluates enforcement referrals, analyzes evidence, drafts legal documents, and coordinates with the Attorney General's Office to bring regulated entities back into compliance.

Qualifications

• A degree is not required, but at least five (5) years of environmental or environmental public health experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Serves as environmental expert and guides regulated communities, officials, attorneys and staff in enforcing environmental programs.
• Performs project management to ensure timely program needs and acts as a technical point-of-contact for assigned programs.
• Researches guidance, processes permits, attends meetings, and defends permit terms when needed.
• Conducts surveys, inspections and investigations of facilities and sites, providing technical guidance.
• Uses enforcement tools to ensure regulated sources return to compliance with laws and standards.
