Job summary

The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) is seeking a UI Claims Examiner Associate – TLB to support unemployment insurance claim overpayments, including fraudulent and non-fraudulent cases. This is a time-limited role based in Atlanta.

Primary duties include reviewing claims for overpayments, conducting fact-finding, processing payments, and supporting appeal reviews. A high school diploma/GED with three years of related experience is required; a related bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma/GED and three (3) years of job-related experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• Experience in unemployment insurance benefits program helpful.

Responsibilities

• Reviews unemployment insurance claims for overpayments.
• Establishes and investigates fraud and non-fraud overpayments.
• Processes employer and claimant wage audit notices.
• Conducts fact-finding on overpayments to determine if fraud occurred.
• Processes payments and prepares daily deposits.
• Reviews appeals remanded to the overpayment unit.
