Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business, Social Work, or related field preferred but not required.
• Prior psychiatric technician experience preferred.
• Exhibits well-developed communication skills and can follow oral instructions in English.
• Demonstrates ability to develop and maintain good working relationships.
• Exhibits safe and productive work habits.

Responsibilities

• Learn and participate in all Staff Development training processes including SMART, NEO, BPTC, CPR/HCP, Program Training, etc.
• Share a rotating training schedule with other Staff Development Trainers.
• Develop, deliver and coordinate training, including situation management and physical intervention (SMART).
• Coordinate presentations and training delivered to new hires in different disciplines (NEO).
• Obtain certification in DMH Way skills to facilitate trainings.
• Assist leadership in identifying staff training needs across disciplines.
• Collaborate with treatment programs to identify program-specific training needs.
• Provide staff support and coverage in living areas as needed.
• Participate in drills and practice opportunities for taught skills.
• Structure training content with a trauma-informed lens.
• Seek to innovate staff training processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Staff Development Supervisor.
