Job summary

Fulton State Hospital in Fulton, MO is seeking a Staff Development Training Specialist to design and coordinate DMH Way and supervision training for facility staff. The role partners with hospital departments to assess needs, develop curricula, and deliver trainings with a trauma-informed lens.

The position requires obtaining facilitation certifications and delivering training across disciplines, including supervisory training, with an emphasis on difficult conversations and de-escalation

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business, Social Work, or related field preferred but not required.
• Prior psychiatric technician experience preferred.
• Exhibit well-developed communication skills; follow oral instructions in English.
• Demonstrate ability to develop and maintain good working relationships.
• Exhibits safe and productive work habits.

Responsibilities

• Partner with departments to assess training needs, develop a training strategy and curriculum, implement training, and evaluate effectiveness.
• Coordinate training between central office and facility supervisors to standardize leadership practices and compliance.
• Function as the primary DMH Way facilitator, scheduling and conducting trainings for facility staff.
• Learn and participate in all Staff Development training processes (SMART, NEO, BPTC, CPR/HCP, etc.).
• Develop, deliver and coordinate training, including situation management and physical intervention training.
