Job summary

SSM Health in Wisconsin's Ripon Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to support perioperative care for surgical patients. You will assess, plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate nursing care for patients undergoing surgery on a day shift with a 24-hour scheduled week.

You will communicate with the care team, involve patients and families, document responses, and administer medications per hospital policy to ensure safe, effective perioperative care and smooth recovery.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, coordinates, implements and evaluates nursing care for surgical patients.
• Communicates with clinical area team members appropriately and conducts nursing assessments.
• Involves patients and families in care planning, education, discharge planning, and prioritization.
• Documents care and patient responses in a timely manner and maintains patient safety.
• Provides information to physicians regarding changes in patient conditions and supports postoperative care.
• Performs nursing interventions and administers medications per hospital policy.
• Participates in all areas of surgical services as needed and supports evidence-based practice.
