Job summary

Wake County Public School System seeks a qualified educator to coordinate and provide direct instructional programs for students with disabilities and IEPs. You will monitor and update IEPs, apply specially designed instruction, and collaborate with teachers, parents, and staff to support student growth.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, NC licensure in Exceptional Children, and the ability to maintain confidentiality under FERPA. First Aid/CPR and CPI are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university.
• Holds or is eligible for a North Carolina Professional Educator’s License in Exceptional Children’s teaching area.
• Must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license per NC requirements.
• First Aid and CPR certifications preferred.
• CPI certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements IEPs for students with disabilities and updates them as needed.
• Uses instructional strategies and progress monitoring tools for specially designed instruction.
• Assists students in completing curriculum tasks and meeting IEP goals.
• Applies varied teaching methods and adapts materials to student needs.
• Monitors behavior, maintains classroom discipline, and teaches behavioral strategies.
• Evaluates student work and coordinate progress/report cards.
• Attends IEP meetings as a team member.
• Engages in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices.
