Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; ParaEducator certification due within 30 days of start.
• 60 sem credits / 90 qtr credits or an associate degree, or have passed the ParaEducator or ParaPro exam; documentation required.
• Good communication, interpersonal and recordkeeping skills; ability to work with technology and computers; supervise students; take direction; maintain regular attendance.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the instruction of students with disabilities in mainstream, resource room or center base settings; duties vary by age/level of disability and may include behavior management.
• Monitoring and recording student progress in instructional areas (academics, daily living skills, dressing, grooming, social skills, etc.).
• Managing physical needs (toileting, feeding, dressing, lifting, positioning, transporting students in wheelchairs, etc.).
