Job summary

Kelso School District is seeking a Paraeducator Assistant to support the special education teacher, assist with IEPs and progress reports, and help provide services for students with disabilities.

Duties include supervising students in the cafeteria and on school grounds, assisting with daily activities, and helping enforce classroom rules in a safe, respectful learning environment. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and training in CPR/First Aid and CPI (or willingness to obtain).

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to work with students with disabilities.
• Ability to cooperate with teachers, parents and students.
• Willingness to obtain required safety trainings (CPR/First Aid, CPI).

Responsibilities

• Assist the special education teacher with maintaining necessary records.
• Submit IEPs and progress reports in a timely manner and document services.
• Assist in daily hygiene activities for students with disabilities if needed.
• Supervise students in cafeteria, classroom, on school grounds and in the community.
• Take precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
• Uphold and enforce school rules, regulations and policies.
• Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
