Job summary

Hood Canal School District in Shelton, WA seeks a dedicated Special Education Paraeducator to support students with a range of disabilities. You will assist certificated staff with IEP goals, data collection, and behavioral plans while helping with instructional activities and student supervision.

Requirements include 18+ years of age, a high school diploma or equivalent, and appropriate credits or certifications. The district offers comprehensive benefits and a 196-day work year.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Paraeducator Assessment OR 72 quarter/48 semester credits OR Associate of Arts degree.
• Valid Washington Driver’s License and fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and students in a welcoming manner.
• Assist certificated staff with IEP goals and behavior plans.
• Create educational materials to support student progress toward IEP goals.
• Monitor student progress and collect data for reporting.
• Assist with daily living activities and supervise students.
• Provide behavioral interventions as needed.
• Ensure safety and monitor students across settings.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct.
