Job summary

Saugus Public Schools Veterans Early Learning Center is seeking a School-Based Physical Therapist Assistant to collaborate with a registered physical therapist in supporting students. The role involves implementing interventions, documenting progress, and coordinating with teachers to support accessibility to education.

Qualifications

• Experience providing PT within a school-based setting.
• Demonstrated experience supporting students with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist the supervising RPT with therapeutic and educational interventions per IEP/504 plans.
• Collaborate with regular and special education staff to accommodate student needs in the academic environment.
• Travel between schools to meet caseload demands.
• Schedule students within the school day/week to maximize time and review with the supervising therapist.
• Provide and document information to the supervising therapist; seek guidance when needed.
• Document student progress daily and quarterly toward IEP goals and review with the supervising therapist.
• Attend staff meetings and team conferences as needed.
• Participate in continuing education opportunities to maintain licensure and stay current on trends in school therapy.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
