Job summary

Reading Corps is seeking Reading Tutors in Minnesota to help students become strong readers. You will tutor pairs of students for 20 minutes daily, follow a schedule, and track progress with an on-site coach. Training is provided, and you will contribute to the community through coaching and experiences.

The role is part of AmeriCorps, with a stipend and education award opportunities. Applicants must be 18+, have a high school diploma, and pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Dependable with good attendance history.
• Able to follow instructions and act on feedback.
• Proficient with basic computer skills (email, online navigation).
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
• 18+ years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
• Able to complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping children thrive.
• Lead tutoring sessions and follow a schedule to ensure students receive support.
• Track student progress with the school's on-site coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores in data software.
