Job summary

Lakewood Ranch Medical Center is seeking a Food and Nutrition Patient Service Manager to lead patient meal services across care units. You will supervise the Dietary Department on shift, ensure meal accuracy and timely delivery, and drive service excellence in a patient-centered environment.

The role requires strong supervision, scheduling, and staff development, with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance within an acute-care setting in Florida.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Associates degree in Food Management preferred.
• 1-2 years supervisory experience required.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in institutional food production required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with recruiting, interviewing, coaching, evaluating, and managing department staff.
• Provides daily supervision, scheduling, and workload coordination for Food and Nutrition team members.
• Trains, orients, and develops employees while ensuring completion of required departmental and organizational education.
• Promotes a culture of service excellence, employee engagement, safety, and teamwork.
• Ensures compliance with food service regulations, department policies, safety standards, infection prevention practices, and emergency procedures.
• Oversees food service operations, including meal quality, accuracy, portion ocntrol, patient diet requirements, and timely meal delivery.
• Manages department inventory, supplies, equipment concerns, and mantains readiness for regulatory inspections and surverys.
• Supports departmental operations through effective communication, problem‑solving, conflict resolution, cost management, and coordination of catering and patient nutrition initiatives.
