Job summary

The American Heart Association is seeking a Development Coordinator on the Youth Engagement VP Team in Fort Lauderdale for a part-time, temporary role funded through Spring 2027. You will support the Youth Engagement Director with projects including school assemblies, data entry, and scheduling while coordinating with vendors and printing services.

Ideal candidates have at least three years in a supporting role, strong Microsoft Office skills, and the ability to travel locally.

Qualifications

• Three years of prior experience in a supporting role.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Teams, and Zoom.
• Excellent written communication skills
• Demonstrated track record of meeting deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills and the willingness to work with all social strata, occupations, and a variety of backgrounds.
• Ability to travel to/from home to local schools.
• Ability to work as part of an integrated team.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the local Youth Engagement Director with their fundraising duties such as helping to schedule/implement Kick Off Assemblies and delivering/picking up various items from local schools (mileage reimbursement will apply).
• Data entry, spreadsheet management and expense report assistance
• Helping to facilitate online material orders for schools and staff
• Working with local print vendor to help facilitate print orders
• Ensure adherence to all national and regional Youth Engagement policies, guidelines and procedures.
• Collaborate with national and regional counterparts in other areas of the organization.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Manage and maintain accurate volunteer and supporter information within our customer relationship management (CRM) system and Microsoft platforms, ensuring data is current and up to date.
