Linn-Benton Community College is establishing a pool for potential openings for part-time instructors in the Health and Human Performance Department. Candidates may be invited to teach Health (HE) courses, develop materials, and assess student outcomes.

Applicants should meet the minimum qualifications, including a relevant master’s or bachelor’s degree with advanced coursework, and demonstrate commitment to student-centered learning and equity. This pool is reviewed as openings arise.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Health, Community Health, Public Health.
• Or bachelor’s degree plus 27 graduate quarter hours in related field and active pursuit of master’s or doctoral degree.
• If teaching a specialty health course, master’s degree is not necessary but certification and experience in the field.
• Demonstrated commitment to student-centered principles and an understanding of the community college mission.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse individuals, including faculty, staff, and students.
• Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned health (HE) courses.
• Prepare and develop materials for classes utilizing approved course outcomes.
• Assign and grade student work; report student attainment of course outcomes.
• Keep abreast of developments in subject area, educational technology, and innovative teaching techniques. Strive for continuous professional improvement.
• Establish and maintain opportunities for reasonable and consistent out-of-class contact with students.
• Exemplify and promote work within the mission of LBCC.
• Work effectively with students and staff of various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and ages.
• Interact with supervisors, colleagues, and staff as part of a team.
• Participate as assigned in occasional department and advisory meetings.

Education

Master’s degree in Health, Community Health, Public Health

Bachelor’s degree + 27 graduate quarter hours in related field

Active pursuit of master’s or doctoral degree
