Job summary

Telecare Corporation is hiring a Peer Recovery Coach I in Perris, CA. The role involves engaging with members to explore recovery goals, promoting a Recovery Culture, and assisting in de-escalation during crises. A strong background in behavioral health and peer support is required.

The position offers a 1.0 FTE shift Tue-Sat, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM, with starting pay around $23/hour. Geographic pay differentials may apply based on location.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Peer Certification must be obtained prior to hire and maintained throughout employment.
• California: Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification through CalMHSA must be obtained within 120 days of your date of hire.
• One (1) year or part-time equivalent of experience supporting members served with behavioral health challenges.
• Experience as a beneficiary of the public Behavioral Health system of care.
• Successful completion of Peer Support Training or Peer Employment Training.
• Valid and current driver's license, and personal vehicle insurance with your name listed as a driver.
• Willingness to use your personal vehicle to attend meetings, etc.

Responsibilities

• Engage with members to explore, create, and meet recovery goals.
• Provide consultation to the team to promote Telecare's Recovery Culture.
• Respond to critical situations with high-level engagement and de-escalation skills.
• Support a least restrictive environment for members served in emergencies related to mental health/addiction challenges.
