Job summary

Hanger, Inc. is seeking an Orthotic Fitter to provide independent patient care on off-the-shelf and prefabricated devices, under indirect supervision when required.

You will examine patient needs, adjust devices for fit and function, instruct patients in use, document care, and collaborate with physicians, therapists and staff to ensure quality outcomes. This role emphasizes compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and Medicare regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree preferred.
• Current certification as a Certified Fitter or Orthotics (ABC)
• Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver’s license and driving record

Responsibilities

• Examine and evaluate patient's needs.
• Provide independent patient care for devices within scope.
• Evaluate orthotic device on patient, adjust to assure fit, function, medical efficacy, and quality of work.
• Instruct patient in use of orthotic devices.
• Identify and reconcile issues to ensure patient satisfaction.
• Provide detailed clinical notes to patient records.
• Provide follow-up with patients and physicians.
• Provide in-service training to physicians and allied health professionals.
• Provide assistance to other clinical staff.
