Job summary

SESI provides occupational therapy services to students in special education and alternative education settings. The OT helps students achieve goals outlined in IEPs/ISPs and may conduct assessments per state and district requirements.

The role involves collaboration with teachers and parents, ongoing progress monitoring, and ensuring interventions align with educational needs. A strong emphasis on documentation and professional judgment is required.

Qualifications

• Requires a degree in occupational therapy and NBCOT/State certification.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong communication with adults and students.

Responsibilities

• Provide Occupational Therapy intervention for students based on IEP/ISP goals.
• Monitor student progress.
• Test and evaluate students (if requested).
• Consult with classroom teachers to integrate OT plans into the classroom.
• Communicate with parents regularly about progress and home activities.
• Develop solutions based on research and professional judgment.
• Refer to community resources as needed.
• Complete required paperwork in a timely and organized manner.
• Other duties may be assigned.
