Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide social-emotional services for students who need additional support to thrive in school. You will collaborate with school staff and families to deliver high-quality OT within the educational setting.

Responsibilities include assessing new students, monitoring therapy plans, teaching teachers and parents OT techniques, supporting IEPs, and conducting group therapy for K-8 classrooms.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Professional licensure from NBCOT.
• Minimum two years of school/special education or behavioral health experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess each new student and evaluate OT needs.
• Monitor therapy programs and consult with educational staff regarding OT strategies in the classroom.
• Educate and demonstrate OT techniques to teachers and parents for classroom/home use.
• Consult on IEPs and document student needs and supports.
• Monitor handwriting and keyboarding curriculum and train staff/parents in applicable techniques.
• Provide group therapy interventions for K-8th grade classes.
• Assess and evaluate students' needs for individual or small group OT sessions.
• Attend parent/teacher meetings for students receiving OT as needed.
