Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform a range of diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety and high-quality results. The role emphasizes patient communication, image evaluation, and adherence to department protocols.

Responsibilities include proper procedure setup, efficient patient throughput, and collaboration with the radiology team. This position supports a PRN, variable schedule model with Wellstar career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Accredited Radiologic Technology or Radiology program required.
• ARRT Nuclear Technology or CNMT certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Verifies clinician orders and collects patient history for procedures.
• Follows procedures for radiopharmaceutical administration to ensure patient safety.
• Reviews images for acceptable quality and confirms patient identity.
• Maintains infection control and cleans/disinfects equipment.
• Explains procedures to patients using AIDET to reduce anxiety.
• Transports, positions patients and assists with procedures.
• Performs pre/post procedural care and maintains documentation.
• Ensures equipment is calibrated and operational before use.
