Job summary

Stanford Medicine Children's Health is seeking a dedicated interpreter to provide medical and general interpreting for patients, families, and care staff. You will assess understanding, translate, and connect families to hospital resources while maintaining confidentiality and cultural sensitivity.

Under supervision, you will handle consecutive and sight translation, support crisis interventions, and coordinate language services across departments to ensure clear communication for all patients

Qualifications

• Native or near-native bilingual in English and another language.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and interpreting best practices.
• Ability to perform consecutive interpretation and sight translation.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical interpretation for patients and families in clinical settings.
• Translate and proofread simple After Visit Summaries accurately and timely.
• Connect patients and families to hospital resources as needed.
• Share observations with staff about patient needs to ensure quality care.
• Respond to language emergency requests and arrange interpretation as needed.
