Job summary

Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent, 1 year interpreting in critical situations, and fluency in English and Spanish with strong medical terminology knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Eliminates Language Barriers to Patient Care
• Facilitate communication among patients, families, and staff
• Interpret directly and accurately, without omissions or interference
• Travel between sites to ensure coverage across the DC metro area
• Provide sight translation of patient care documents
• Provide document translation of limited patient materials
• Promote appropriate utilization of interpretation services by staff
