IDEA Public Schools seeks dedicated teachers for IDEA Academy to ensure every student masters essential academic and social skills, while embodying IDEA’s values daily. Teachers set ambitious goals, plan rigorous instruction, assess mastery, and track progress toward goals in a high-expectation environment.

Role involves collaborating with families, utilizing data to inform instruction, and contributing to a team-driven school culture focused on college readiness and student achievement.

Qualifications

• Teaching certification or credential relevant to content area.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year institution.
• Experience in a K-12 classroom setting preferred.
• Reading Academies certification for TX teachers or willingness to obtain.
• Bilingual certification strongly preferred, ESL certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement state standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Track progress and adjust lesson plans; update gradebook weekly.
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families weekly.
• Use technology to support learning and manage tasks.
• Establish a clear behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives.
• Foster school-wide culture for a productive learning environment.
• Build cooperative relationships with students and families based on trust.
• Host tutoring sessions after school as needed.
• Participate in weekly manager check-ins and grade-level meetings.
