Job summary

IDEA Public Schools in Midland, TX is seeking a dedicated IDEA Academy teacher to deliver rigorous instruction and monitor student progress toward college-ready outcomes. You will plan weekly lessons, analyze data, and communicate progress to families while embracing IDEA values within a collaborative school community.

The role demands a strong content background, TX certification readiness or certification, and a willingness to participate in after-school tutoring and district initiatives.

Qualifications

• Teaching certification and field of study or work experience strongly preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required)
• Experience in a K-12 classroom setting strongly preferred
• Licenses or Certifications: Reading Academies certification for K-3 or willingness to obtain TX training; bilingual/ESL certifications preferred (not required)

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback
• Assess student progress and adjust lesson plans; maintain gradebook weekly
• Communicate student progress with families weekly
• Use technology for communication and instruction to boost outcomes
• Maintain a behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives
• Foster a positive, collaborative school culture with students and families
• Host tutoring sessions as needed and participate in meetings and school events
• Engage in ongoing district, school, and personal development
• Commit to 40+ hours on campus weekly
• Additional duties may include after-school tutoring or Saturday school
