Canton College Preparatory School and Wright Preparatory Academy in Canton, Ohio seek an Intervention Specialist to support students with IEP goals. The role emphasizes collaborative planning with teachers, diagnostic assessments, and behavior support plans.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in a full room inclusion model or co-teaching in a resource room model.
• Growth-focused coaching environment with frequent observations and progress monitoring.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Excellent organization and time management.
• Ability to pass FBI/BCI background checks.
• Experience in a multi-cultural setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with classroom teachers, interpreting abilities and disabilities and assisting in intervention strategies.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction.
• Conduct functional behavior assessments.
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans.
• Facilitate IEP Meetings and write IEP goals and objectives.
• Meet goals related to student achievement and culture and state goals.
• Utilize research-based best practices in daily planning and instruction.
• Integrate culturally responsive teaching into daily lessons and interactions.
• Serve as advisor for a designated set of students.
• Communicate regularly with families about academic and social-emotional growth.
• Plan and participate in non-instructional activities like social events and field trips.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
