Job summary

LISC Indianapolis seeks a Program Officer, Housing and Real Estate Development to advance our local housing strategy and support the creation and preservation of affordable housing in Indianapolis and nearby areas. You will manage the development lending strategy, guide intake, and support underwriting in collaboration with Lending and Investment teams.

You will strengthen nonprofit partners, align public, private, philanthropic and community interests, and help move mission-aligned projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or the equivalent) from an accredited college or university; Master’s degree preferred or relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in affordable housing, real estate development, community development finance, urban planning, lending, public policy, nonprofit program management, or related field work in neighborhoods.

Responsibilities

  • Manage programs and activities connected to LISC Indianapolis’ local housing strategy, including preservation, production and partner capacity building.
  • Track housing trends, project pipelines and investment strategies to inform priorities.
  • Prepare reports, presentations and updates on housing programs and activity.
  • Manage a portfolio of housing and real estate initiatives including grants, contracts and monitoring.
  • Cultivate relationships with funders, financial institutions and public agencies to align funding and investments.
  • Support proposals, reports, and tours for funders and stakeholders.
  • Oversee grants, contracts and consulting engagements with partners and TA providers.
  • Participate in peer learning and special projects as needed.
