Job summary

Idaho Home Health, part of the LHC Group and Optum family, seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to execute treatment plans, provide exercise instruction, and educate patients to improve well-being in home care settings.

Responsibilities include following the supervising PT’s plan, aiding patients in exercises, and coordinating care with the healthcare team, while meeting state licensure requirements.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing provision of physical therapy in home care and perform only procedures qualified for; report plan-of-care changes to supervising PT.
• Instructs patients in active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait, and functional training; coordinate with healthcare team.
• Observe and report patient responses to treatment; coordinate with nurses and physicians.
• Educate patient, family, caregiver, and health team on therapy within PT assistant scope.
• Function in diverse home settings irrespective of demographic factors.
