Job summary

Optum Idaho Home Health in Idaho seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to deliver treatment, provide exercise instruction and patient education aligned with the established plan of care.

Responsibilities include following state laws, assisting with active and passive exercises, recording responses, coordinating with the care team, and educating patients and families about therapy. Weekend rotation and reliable transportation required.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation
• Available to work a weekend rotation
• Current CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire
• Ability to perform physical tasks required for patient care, including lifting, transferring, and assisting with mobility

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws governing physical therapy in home care and adhere to the plan of care as defined by the supervising PT
• Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait, functional, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training
• Observe, record, and report patient responses to treatment and changes in condition; coordinate care with the health care team
• Instruct patient, family, caregiver, and other health team members in therapy within the scope of the PTA
• Function effectively in diverse home settings and with varied patient needs
