Job summary

Optum’s Baptist HomeCare division is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant to deliver home-based therapy and educate patients and families under a supervising PT. The role supports mobility, gait training, and ADL activities in diverse home settings.

The position requires a current PTA license, valid driver's license, weekend availability, and a commitment to safe, compliant care. A comprehensive benefits package and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
Available to work a weekend rotation.
CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days (preferred).
Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and mobility assistance (preferred).

Responsibilities

Follow state-specific laws governing the provision of physical therapy in home care.
Instruct patients in active and passive exercises and gait, ADL, and transfers.
Record and report patient responses to treatment to supervising PT.
Educate patient, family, and health care team in therapy within the PTA scope.
Support care coordination with the health care team.
