Job summary

Optum is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to provide treatment and education to patients in home health care. You will follow a plan of care established by the supervising Physical Therapist and help patients improve well-being through targeted exercises and education.

Responsibilities include performing prescribed exercises, coordinating with the healthcare team, and educating patients and families. A valid PTA license and CPR certification are required, with weekend availability and

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a dependable vehicle or reliable public transportation.
• Ability to work a weekend rotation.
• Ability to function in any home environment regardless of client background.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws governing provision of physical therapy in home care and follow the supervising PT's plan of care.
• Instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observe and report patient responses and changes to the supervising PT and care team.
• Educate patient, family, caregiver, and health team on therapy within scope of practice.
