Job summary

Oregon Youth Authority is seeking qualified candidates for the Group Life Coordinator 2 (GLC2) at the MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility in Woodburn, Oregon. This role focuses on continuous supervision, rapport building, and ensuring safety and adherence to facility policies.

Responsibilities include monitoring youth behavior, supporting treatment goals, conducting security checks, and coordinating with medical staff for youth health needs.

Qualifications

• GLC2 requires a high school diploma or equivalent and six months of full-time experience observing, evaluating, developing, and monitoring human behavior and performance; OR a certificate or associate degree in a behavioral science, education, criminal justice, or related field.
• Under-fill (GLC1) requires a high school diploma or GED or higher.
• Special qualifications: must be 21+, valid driver's license and acceptable driving record; Physical Abilities Test (PAT) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous interactive supervision of youth and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
• Oversee daily activities, build rapport, address and redirect behavior, model pro-social skills, and support youth treatment goals.
• Coaching, observing youth behavior, documenting, and monitoring health and safety risks including suicide prevention.
• Assist with security inspections and searches; administer medication under indirect medical supervision.

Education
