Oregon Youth Authority seeks a Group Life Coordinator 2 to uphold a safe, constructive environment for youth and staff at Tillamook facility. You will guide youth behavior, document treatment and incidents, and supervise youths performing various tasks to support daily operations.

The role emphasizes strong observation, reporting, and collaboration with medical and security teams, with a focus on safety and positive development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Six months full‑time experience observing, evaluating, developing, and monitoring human behavior; OR a related certificate/associate degree.
• Certificate or Associate degree from an accredited school in behavioral science, education, criminal justice, or related field.
• Under-fill: GLC1 qualifications if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Coaching, confronting, and correcting youth behavior as necessary.
• Observing, evaluating, and recording youth behavior, attendance, and participation in programs.
• Preparing Youth Incident Reports (YIRs) and documenting incidents.
• Assigning, training, and supervising youth in facility jobs (maintenance, kitchen, laundry).
• Supervising youth in community-based work crews when appropriate.
• Monitoring youth for health and safety risks, including suicide prevention.
• Conducting security inspections and searches of facility, grounds, and state vehicles.
• Administering medication under indirect supervision and coordinating with medical staff.
• Providing secure transport of youth to appointments within the community as needed.
