Job summary

Oregon Youth Authority (OYA) invites applicants for Group Life Coordinator 2 at Camp Riverbend Youth Transitional Facility in La Grande, Oregon. The role supports safe, constructive supervision of youth, delivering guidance and pro-social modeling to help youths engage in activities responsibly.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with six months of related experience or an approved behavioral science/education/criminal justice credential.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED or higher; and six months full-time experience in observing, evaluating and monitoring human behavior and performance.
• Certificate or associate degree in behavioral sciences, education, criminal justice, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coach, confront, and correct youth behavior as needed.
• Observe, evaluate, and record youth behavior, participation in programs and services.
• Prepare Youth Incident Reports (YIRs) and document incidents.
• Supervise youth in chores and jobs within the facility.
• Monitor health and safety risks and perform security checks.
• Administer medication under medical staff supervision and coordinate care.
• Provide secure transport to appointments as needed.
