Job summary

Fairview Health Services in Minnesota seeks a dedicated Revenue Cycle professional to assist patients with financial clearance and MN Medical Assistance programs. You will coordinate applications, assess eligibility, and collaborate with hospital staff to resolve discharge barriers related to coverage, ensuring patients obtain needed healthcare and financial services.

The role involves working with patients and representatives, documenting all activities, and staying current on program nuances

Qualifications

• A.A./A.S. in business, healthcare or related field or commensurate experience of 4 years in addition to minimum experience requirement.
• 3 years in a customer service or human services role with 2+ years in a Financial Assistance role or experience with Minnesota Health Care Programs.
• Prior experience with county programs or charity care programs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate screening and applications for MN Medical Assistance and Fairview Financial Assistance.
• Discuss income, assets, household, disability status, citizenship with patients; assess eligibility.
• Submit applications with patients to counties/states and monitor follow-ups.
• Incorporate applicable balances into applications and request back-dating when needed.
• Document activities succinctly and completely.
• Complete complex Medical Assistance applications (MA, Spenddowns, disability, etc.).
• Maintain knowledge of Fairview Financial Assistance criteria and MN Medicaid nuances.
• Conduct case consultations with Care Coordination and other clinical teams as needed.
• Help resolve discharge barriers through medical assistance processes.
