Job summary

Jefferson RISE Charter School in Harvey, LA seeks a highly effective English Teacher for a 10-month, full-time role to deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction and build strong relationships with students and families.

You will differentiate instruction, monitor progress, implement IEPs/BIPs, and collaborate with teams, with weekly coaching and ongoing professional development. The compensation ranges from $40,000 to $65,000 annually, with stipends and bonuses possible, paid twice monthly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; degree in content area preferred.
• Content area certification preferred.
• Demonstrated record of measurable student achievement and growth.
• Strong command of Tier I instructional practices and evidence-based teaching strategies.
• Ability to analyze data and translate findings into instructional decisions.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides).

Responsibilities

• Deliver structured, high-quality Tier I instruction grounded in evidence-based strategies.
• Monitor student understanding and adjust instruction in real time.
• Use formal and informal assessment data to identify gaps and drive instruction forward.
• Differentiate to ensure access to rigorous, grade-level content.
• Provide specific feedback tied to learning targets and growth.
• Collaborate with grade-level and content teams to align instruction.
• Implement and monitor IEPs, BIPs, and accommodations with the special education team.
• Participate in PLCs, data meetings, and school initiatives.
• Maintain records and meet administrative deadlines.
• Dedicate one afternoon per week to after-school tutoring.
