Job summary

Jefferson RISE Charter School in Harvey, LA is seeking a highly effective English Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time, exempt role reports to the Instructional Coach and supports grades 6-12 with rigorous, standards-aligned instruction.

You will collaborate with teams, implement IEPs/BIPs, and participate in PLCs to drive student growth. Competitive compensation and dedicated coaching are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; degree in content area preferred
• Content-area certification preferred
• Demonstrated record of measurable student achievement and growth
• Strong command of Tier I instructional practices and evidence-based teaching strategies
• Ability to analyze data and translate findings into instructional decisions
• Proficiency in Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides)

Responsibilities

• Deliver structured, high-quality Tier I instruction grounded in evidence-based strategies
• Monitor student understanding and adjust instruction in real time
• Use formal and informal assessment data to identify gaps and drive instruction
• Differentiate to ensure all students access rigorous, grade-level content
• Provide consistent, specific feedback tied to learning targets
• Communicate with families about student progress and needs
• Maintain accurate records and meet administrative deadlines
• Dedicate one afternoon per week to after-school tutoring
