Job summary

Jefferson RISE Charter School in Harvey, LA seeks an experienced English SPED Teacher to deliver targeted instruction to students with IEPs and drive academic growth through data-informed practices.

You will lead specialized instruction, collaborate with general education teachers, and maintain meticulous IEP documentation while supporting students’ social-emotional progress in a 10-month, full-time role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and eligibility/certification in Special Education.
• Experience providing direct instruction to students with disabilities.
• Knowledge of IEP processes, accommodations, and progress monitoring.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills; proficient with Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted, standards-aligned instruction in English/Language Arts to students with IEPs using accommodations and scaffolds.
• Use data-driven progress monitoring to inform instructional decisions and adjust supports.
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture with safe, respectful, and responsible expectations.
• Collaborate with general education staff and families to align supports and communicate progress.
• Maintain accurate documentation of IEP implementation, services, and compliance tasks.
