Job summary

Jefferson RISE Charter School in Harvey, LA is seeking an Instructional Coach to improve student achievement by developing highly effective teachers. The coach will supervise and develop approximately 6-8 teachers while teaching students for about 50% of the day.

The role requires using data, classroom observations, and feedback to drive continuous improvement, with weekly coaching meetings, PLC leadership, and collaboration with the Instructional Leadership Team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Two years of successful classroom teaching experience.
• Proven record of improving student achievement and outcomes.
• Strong instructional planning, assessment, and data-analysis skills.
• Ability to coach, influence, and develop adult learners.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coach, and evaluate approximately 6-8 teachers.
• Conduct weekly one-on-one coaching meetings with direct reports.
• Observe classrooms regularly and provide actionable feedback aligned to rubrics.
• Complete formal observations and evaluations within timelines.
• Develop individualized growth plans for teachers.
• Support teachers in implementing feedback and measuring impact.
• Serve as a model educator and demonstrate effective practices.
• Support retention and development of high-performing teachers.
• Plan and facilitate weekly PLC meetings.
• Lead analysis of student work and assessment results.
• Design and deliver schoolwide professional development.
