Job summary

Jefferson RISE Charter School in Harvey, LA seeks an Instructional Coach to improve student achievement by developing teachers and leading instructional practices. You will supervise 6-8 teachers, coach, observe, and model effective instruction, while also teaching about 50% of the school day.

Reporting to the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and/or Executive Director, you will conduct weekly coaching, analyze student work, and lead PLCs to address gaps and elevate outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of two years of successful classroom teaching experience.
• Demonstrated record of improving student achievement and student outcomes.
• Strong instructional planning, assessment, and data-analysis skills.
• Ability to coach, influence, and develop adult learners.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coach, and evaluate approximately 6-8 teachers.
• Conduct weekly one-on-one coaching meetings with direct reports.
• Observe classrooms regularly and provide actionable feedback aligned to the school's instructional rubric and NIET evaluation framework.
• Complete formal observations and evaluations in accordance with school timelines.
• Develop individualized growth plans for teachers.
• Support teachers in implementing feedback and measuring impact.
• Serve as a model educator and demonstrate effective instructional practices.
• Support retention and development of high-performing teachers.
• Plan and facilitate weekly PLC meetings.
• Lead analysis of student work, assessment results, and instructional practices.
• Develop action plans to address student learning gaps.
• Design and facilitate professional development throughout the school year.
• Collaborate with Instructional Leadership Team to plan schoolwide professional learning.
• Lead summer professional development planning and facilitation.
