Job summary

Jefferson RISE Charter School in Harvey, LA, seeks a highly effective English Teacher for a 10-month, full-time role. You will deliver standards-aligned English instruction, build strong student relationships, and contribute to a culture of excellence and accountability throughout the school year.

Responsibilities include data-informed instruction, collaboration with instructional teams, and after-school tutoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; degree in content area preferred
• Content area certification preferred
• Demonstrated record of measurable student achievement and growth
• Strong command of Tier I instructional practices and evidence-based teaching strategies
• Ability to analyze data and translate findings into instructional decisions
• Proficiency in Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides)

Responsibilities

• Deliver structured, high-quality Tier I instruction grounded in evidence-based strategies
• Monitor student understanding and adjust instruction in real time
• Use formal and informal assessment data to identify gaps and drive instruction forward
• Differentiate to ensure all students access rigorous, grade-level content
• Provide consistent, specific feedback tied to learning targets and growth
• Collaborate with teams to align instruction and support student progress
• Communicate proactively with families about student progress and needs
• Dedicate one afternoon per week to after-school tutoring
