Odyssey House Louisiana is seeking a full-time Employment Specialist Case Manager to support individuals experiencing homelessness in the New Orleans area. You will provide career coaching, job readiness training, job placement, and retention support while collaborating with housing and health staff.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human services, business administration, or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive intake assessments to identify work history, skills, goals, and barriers.
• Partner with individuals to create employment goals and timelines.
• Assist with resumes, cover letters, online applications, and interview preparation.
• Conduct mock interviews and job readiness workshops on soft skills and communication.
• Build relationships with employers, second‑chance employers, and staffing agencies.
• Attend local job fairs to stay current on workforce needs and trends.
• Advocate for individuals by matching skills with job openings.
• Collaborate with housing navigators, mental health professionals, and shelter staff.
• Maintain confidential client records and employment tracking in HMIS or databases.
• Track placements, wage progression, retention, and certifications for grant compliance.
• Provide on-the-job coaching and regular check-ins through 180 days of employment.
• Assist with navigating workplace challenges and transportation disruptions.
