Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Social Services is seeking an ES Eligibility Case Manager to serve in Charleston County. This role administers SNAP, TANF, ESAP, and SCCAP programs, performs eligibility interviews, and processes applications and recertifications to support families in need.

Candidates must have a High School Diploma and at least one year in Economic Services; an Associate degree can substitute. A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for field work are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and at least one year experience in Economic Services programs.
• An Associate Degree or higher may substitute for required program experience.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to operate a motor vehicle.
• Individuals must comply with necessary field work assignments.

Responsibilities

• Provides services in accordance with federal/state laws and agency policies for SNAP, ESAP, SCCAP, TANF programs.
• Conducts SNAP/TANF quality interviews via phone or in person for renewals.
• Processes applications and recertifications; redetermines eligibility and authorizes benefits when applicable.
• Manages ABAWD caseload; notifies, tracks, and determines eligibility; keeps abreast of regulations.
• Processes system alerts for county of residence and caseload; maintains confidential case records.
• Documents client work participation in SCOSA; prepares reports as required.
• Identifies and documents overpayments; prepares referrals for Fair Hearings and attends as directed.
• Performs Red Cross shelter duty or other emergency shelter duties as directed.
• Protects PII; safeguards agency networks, equipment, and data.
