Job summary

SC Department of Social Services is seeking an Eligibility Case Manager in the Economic Services Division. The role focuses on administering SNAP, TANF, ESAP, and SCCAP benefits within a county, with emphasis on accuracy, confidentiality, and customer service.

You will conduct quality interviews, process applications and renewals, manage ABAWD caseloads, and maintain case documentation in SCOSA. Travel within the state is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and at least 1 year of experience in Economic Services Programs.
• Bachelor's Degree or higher may substitute for the required program experience.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel within South Carolina, including overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Provides SNAP/TANF services per federal/state laws and agency policies in Economic Services to help stabilize clients.
• Conducts quality interviews (phone and face-to-face) for SNAP/TANF applications and renewals.
• Processes SNAP and TANF applications and renewals, ESAP interim contacts and annual recertifications, changes and alerts.
• Manages ABAWD caseload, determines SNAP eligibility, and interprets programs for clients as needed.
• Processes system generated alerts for county of residence and caseload.
• Maintains case records in the agency system; documents client work participation in SCOSA and prepares reports.
• Identifies and documents overpayments; prepares referrals for Fair Hearings.
• Performs Red Cross shelter duty or emergency shelter duties as directed.
• Protects PII and safeguards agency networks and data.
• Performs other related duties as required.
