Job summary

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is hiring an Instructional Assistant to support elementary students with autism in the Neshaminy School District. The role is full-time for a 10-month period, with potential extension in summer, and pays $21 to $24.50 per hour depending on education and RBT certification.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High School diploma or GED is required; associates preferred.
• At least one year of experience in an educational setting; autism experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain classroom policies and procedures, modeling appropriate behavior and providing emotional support.
• Assist in implementing students’ IEPs and PBSP as directed by the teacher.
• Assist with student personal needs, including medical needs in coordination with school staff.
• Participate in meetings and in-service training programs as assigned.
• Understand team goals and contribute to the team; cooperate with others within and outside the team.
• Apply crisis intervention techniques under direction of the teacher based on student safety needs.
