Job summary

U.S. Fleet Forces Command seeks an Equal Employment Specialist within the Equal Employment Opportunity Center of Norfolk Naval Shipyard to lead and administer EEO programs, provide expert counseling, and coordinate complaint processing.

The role requires close collaboration with HR staff and serviced activities across the DoD footprint. The ideal candidate will bring federal EEO program experience, capability to brief senior leadership, and strong analytical skills for regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience implementing and administering an Equal Employment Opportunity program.
• Experience managing reasonable accommodation programs.
• Knowledge of EEO concepts, laws, and regulations in the federal context.
• Experience briefing senior leadership.
• Experience analyzing reports and drafting responses to inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Manage one or more EEO programs.
• Collaborate with Director, EEO Center of Excellence, HR staff, and serviced activities.
• Serve as EEO advisor on committees.
• Act as an EEO consultant for counseling and complaint processing.
• Administer informal EEO complaint program for assigned activities.
• Conduct fact-finding and evaluate complaints.
• Negotiate resolutions with management and complainant.
• Identify barriers to equal employment opportunities.
• Analyze complaints for timeliness and regulatory scope.
• Provide guidance to management and applicants on policies and case law.
• Conduct training on preventing discriminatory harassment and complaints system.
