Job summary

Norwescap is seeking an Early Head Start Classroom Substitute in Flemington, NJ. Hours are as needed, not to exceed 8 hours per day, with a pay range of $17.28–$19.59 per hour.

The role supports a fast-paced, at‑risk population program and offers diverse experience within the Head Start framework. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma with progress toward a CDA, plus relevant experience with young children.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education Level: High school diploma working towards CDA to be completed within two years of hire.
• Preferred Education Level: CDA- Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field.
• Experience: Experience working with young children.
• Preferred Experience: 2 years' experience in early childhood education and direct experience with at-risk population, Head Start experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom staff in maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy environment for children and staff.
• Support classroom activities and lesson implementation.
• Promote positive child interactions and development.
• Assist with daily routines and caregiving tasks.
