Job summary

Rock Creek Foundation in Silver Spring, MD is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) PRN to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will provide daily living support, monitor safety, assist with medications as authorized, document services, and help create a caring home environment.

This role offers flexible scheduling (PRN), an hourly rate of $20.00–$21.00, on-going training, and a friendly team focused on independence and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Compassionate and caring nature.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities (preferred).
• Ability to pass background checks and FBI fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to those with mental health diagnosis and co-occurring disabilities.
• Foster positive relationships with consumers.
• Ensure consumer safety and maintain a safe environment.
• Encourage self-help activities.
• Remind and assist with self-administration of medication.
• Perform personal care tasks and assist with grooming.
• Accompany consumers to appointments.
• Plan meals and assist with shopping and serving meals.
• Teach daily living skills such as decision-making and problem-solving.
• Observe and document changes in condition or behavior.
• Perform light housekeeping duties.
