Job summary

Premier Community Supports, LLC hires Direct Support Professionals to provide high-quality, person-centered care to individuals with IDD through in-home and community-based services, including day programs, positive behavior supports, and 24-hour residential assistance.

As a DSP, you’ll help individuals gain independence and engage with the community, focusing on their strengths and daily goals while working with families and support teams to achieve positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Preferred: 6 months+ experience with I/DD or 1 year caregiving/related experience.
• Must pass criminal background check per state requirements (Oregon OARs).
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle if transportation duties apply.
• Smartphone access for documentation and communication.
• Willingness to complete annually required training (24 hours minimum).
• CPR & First Aid training provided if needed.

Responsibilities

• Build a supportive, person-centered relationship with the individual and deliver care that aligns with their ISP.
• Promote autonomy and choice: support the individual in exercising their rights and making decisions about their own life.
• Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and toileting, and help with household tasks (laundry, dishes, vacuuming, tidying).
• Collaborate with the individual, their family and the support team to enable best-possible outcomes.
• Facilitate community participation: help plan and attend social, recreational and appointment-based activities based on preferences.
• Support budgeting, shopping and meal preparation when needed.
• With appropriate training, administer medications or support medication protocols.
• Identify and report incidents or changes in health/behavior/circumstances, and maintain required documentation per regulations.
• Provide transportation (in a personal vehicle if required) for errands, community outings or appointments.
• Adapt to schedule variations (day/evening/night shifts; weekends) to meet needs.
