Job summary

Venture Community Services provides support to individuals facing diverse challenges through a compassionate and dedicated workforce using innovative practices that encourage independence, empowerment, and opportunity.

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for advocating and supporting adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities, empowering them to be active in daily life within a group home.

• Commitment to assisting people with varying disabilities to participate fully in their community and in their own lives.
• Strong personal connections in the local community.
• Proven record of conscientious, responsible behavior (work, volunteer or school).
• Ability to work as a creative, engaged, dedicated member of the team.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for adults 22+ with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Support activities of daily living within the group home.
• Assist with meal prep, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, and personal care.
• Accompany individuals to medical appointments, banking, and community outings.
• Follow Behavior Support Plans and Individual Support Plans to achieve goals.
• Assist with emergency preparedness and map safety procedures.
